How to overcome 'Stage Fright' ??

Hello dear friends
Hope you all are doing absolutely fine.
Today, I am writing my 13th blog post, and the journey to date has been amazing. It's been one week, that I am uploading one post daily. At times, I thought it’s gonna be difficult to bring the change in the lives of people and make their lives extraordinary and urge them to not make the same mistakes that I have made in the last 4-5 years of my life. I know, it’s not going to be easy at all. I need to work hard in various fields, I have to sacrifice over many things and I also have to put a full stop to all the habits which pull me away from my goal. I know, I would get disappointments and sorrow as well. But this is my ultimate goal and this is what I have to do in my life. I will do anything for it. I will never give up, no matter how hard it is going to be. And this is all that you need to do exactly and how you need to think if you are working seriously towards a big goal.

Let us directly come to today’s topic without getting off track. Well.. the picture above must have given you a little idea about what I am gonna talk about?

                                              overcome stage fear

To perform a song, an act, a dance performance or even to give a simple speech in front of larger audiences has always been a big nightmare for most of us. Today I am going to tell, how to turn that nightmare into a golden opportunity.
I am always having a deep connection with these kinds of stage performances since my early school days. I can’t forget the time when I used to be super excited to give - ' thought for the day, 'the pledge', 'the news' or simply 'the command' to 1000+ students of the entire school in the morning assembly. I am so grateful to the almighty and my parents as well to motivate me to get involved in all these kinds of activities. If you want a big success in your life, if you want to reach a position where the entire world knows you and respects you (I sincerely expect from all my readers that you people are targeting really big goals in your lives) then you really need to work hard on this skill. No matter wherever you’ll be, being stage friendly will always take you places.
As adding an extra badge to my jersey, let me tell you that I have performed in various skits, dramas, mimes, and street plays. Either it is performing mime in a mall in front of a huge audience or performing in front of hundreds of students, professors, and totally unknown people. I have always given my best and never allowed that ‘stage fear’ to control my senses and disturb my performance a single time. Along with that, I have also given various performances on my guitar in front of large audiences and have actively participated in almost every speech, parliamentary debate, poetry, declamation kind of competitions.

Here are the links to my few performances Street play , Mime
Hope you'll identify me in the group.😁

Today, whoever I am, no matter how many times I have performed in front of large audiences, no matter was my performance extraordinary or not. But at least I can proudly say that I am multiple times better in most things than all those who don’t. The biggest reason behind this stage friendly nature has its strings attached to my childhood only, as I have told you earlier. All the efforts I have put into my childhood are paying me off now. And it is paying amazingly well. I have performed so many times on stage only in my childhood that today it is not a big deal for me anymore.

I sincerely want you all to praise and motivate your children as much as possible and urge them to never miss an opportunity of speaking or performing in front of large audiences. Because, eventually in their life wherever they will go, they will perform. It would be nothing but the confidence they have earned in their childhood that will do. Always remember, taking care of these small steps in their childhood will go a long way and will pay them off in their future. Also, it will the most bankable solution to prevent them from having the ‘stage fear’ problem in the future.

Now, the issue is that maybe most of you have already done your schooling but you aren’t aged enough that you are married and have children (If you are married and have children, that’s great 😊 Do read the above paragraph all again) and you aren’t able to perform in front of large audiences Or when you do, you are miserably bad in it Or when you stand there in front of people, it gives you a nerve-wracking experience. Well, you can’t go back to your childhood and work on all those things to bring a change. But no worries. It is still possible for you to do and also, it’s not going to be that hard that you won’t be able to walk even a single step. If you would give your best shot with full dedication if you will work on five below-mentioned points. Trust me, speaking or performing in front of a large group of people won’t give butterflies in your stomach anymore. You are amazing and there is no dearth of talents and skills in you. You just need to work on these four things and you probably will become too good for the audience, no matter how intellectual or huge it would be.

01. Take a good start

You must have heard; a good start is half the goal achieved. Similarly, a good, calm, and confident start will take you places in any kind of performance. Never worry about all your haters. Your calm and keen start will dumbstruck them. Ever since I have started taking part in all these kinds of stage activities, I have personally seen that whenever my beginning has been good, the further path has been smooth. For a perfect start, keep following things in mind always.
-      Start with looking at the sides where your benevolent friends are present. Benevolent in sense, they are happy seeing you there. It will give you extra confidence.
-       Take a few deep breaths before going in front of the mic. And whisper some positive affirmations to you.
-        Start in a firm voice, not too high nor too low indeed.

02. Keep a generous smile on your face throughout the performance or presentation

It will connect you to your audience more easily and in a better manner. I have personally felt that whenever I have performed with a constant smile over my face, I have performed remarkably great as compared to when I haven’t.
If you want to see an example of how smiling raise the performance, look at me singing here Anant Sing

03. Build a rapport with your audience in the very starting by asking them some normal daily life questions or just by simply asking them for a loud cheer.

Never feel inferior in front of your audience. Always keep in mind that 70-80% of those sitting in the audience won’t even dare to speak a single word if they would be asked to.

04. Don’t perform without proper practice and collecting proper information about the topic. So that, you won’t go speechless in between.

Similarly, if you are getting an unexpected invitation to speak on any random topic and you don’t have much information about what it is. Always use ‘In my opinion’ and  ‘I think’ kinds of phrases before speaking anything on the topic.

05. Even if you aren’t doing good, you are still getting a step closer to your goal and polishing yourself for the coming time.

Always keep in mind, none of your performance will go in vain. You will always get a return and it would be PHENOMENAL 😊
