Reservation: a Nightmare for the General Category Students

There are possibilities that many people won't be very happy reading this. I know it's a 'dead-rubber' topic. Also, know that it's not going to make even the minutest of the change. In fact, maybe this will make a lot of people go cross with me.

The picture below clearly highlights the sorry state of the General (non-EWS) category students. Summing it all up, you'll find that out of the total 571 seats in the MPPSC, 2019 (the 2019 PRELIMS exam's result coming in the 10th month of 2022 is an entirely different story. Will talk about this lackluster attitude of the responsible some other day.), 434 are reserved for the candidates from the SC, ST, OBC, and the relatively recent addition-the EWS. This brings down the quota for the general candidates to an abysmal 23.99%. And this isn't the only blow to the General (non-EWS) category students. Another major is higher cutoff marks. You'll have to score 10/20/30 more marks than any of your brothers and sisters from the SC/ST/OBC/EWS category to pass the same examination.

Can't bear more pain? Hold on a minute. The following couple of points will make it more excruciating. The daunting journey for the General (non-EWS) candidate doesn't stop here. Even after scoring more marks and fighting for the already fewer seats, the All India Ranks (AIR) they'll get will be hundreds and thousands lower than those from the reserved classes. After burning midnight oils for years and still compromising with poor ranks; if some kinda fighting spirit is left in them, they'll again have to suffer at the time of promotion. Alas...

As I mentioned in the very beginning, this system's not going to change a bit. In fact, things are going to further deteriorate for 'us, the General (non-EWS) class.' Learn to swallow the poison at every juncture of your life, accept your FATE (realize the irony?), and achieve your desired goal asap by working your a** off.
